Aldi
Kate, David, and I went to explore our local Aldi store yesterday. I have to say it was a very interesting experience. Apparently it's originally a German store that has many locations here in the States.
Here are a few interesting things we discovered:
Here are a few interesting things we discovered:
- You must insert a quarter in the shopping carts to release them so you can use them while shopping. Your quarter is returned to you once you return the cart to its correct location. Very European.
- Great chocolate section. Must return to buy some chocolates.
- They don't really carry any name brands. Everything is generic.
- Cheap! The foods carried at the store are incredibly cheap! Kate bought a pizza making kit, cheese, cereal, cherries, and sour gummy worms for $10. David bought a huge thing of laundry detergent, carrots, apples, tortilla chips, and Bacon Ranch flavored salad dressing for $14.
- They sell stuff other than groceries - furniture, Halloween costumes, jogging suits, and flip flops are among the other things for sale.
